The 112th annual Red River Shootout looked like it was all but over with the Oklahoma Sooners trailing 45-24 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game. What happened over the next 10 minutes is hard to put into words. The Texas Longhorns surrendered 21 unanswered points in less than six minutes. It looked as if OU’s miracle comeback was going to be enough, but Texas staged a last minute drive that ended in with a 40-yard field goal by freshman Cameron Dicker to give the Longhorns a 48-45 win.
The fact that this game was even remotely close at the end is a miracle.
