When speaking with reporters at Sunday’s OU Media Day, Oklahoma Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley announced that freshman linebacker Jalen Redmond, freshman defensive tackle Michael Thompson, junior safety Chanse Sylvie and senior safety Prentice McKinney are expected to miss the 2018 season due to various ailments.
Redmond, a highly-touted freshman from Midwest City, will be out for 2018 due to a situation with blood clots. Earlier this month, he was hospitalized because of the issue. The presence of blood clots can be a scary situation, so it’s good to see that the thing was handled swiftly and that OU is taking the proper precautions.
