Heading into Saturday's game against the Kansas Jayhawks Oklahoma defensive end Charles Tapper had yet to register a quarterback sack on the season. Three sacks, and two forced fumbles, later he became the third consecutive Sooner to be named in the Big 12's player of the week honors.
OU rolled Kansas 62-7 on Saturday and Tapper led a defensive charge that limited the Jayhawks to an average of just 3.1 yards per play and 216 total yards of offense. OU recovered both of the fumbles that Tapper forced and turned them into 10 points, with a field goal and a touchdown.
