As we all know at this point, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was arrested early Saturday morning in Fayetteville, Ark. He was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing and resisting arrest, all of which are misdemeanor offenses. On Tuesday, Mayfield issued a public apology via Instagram.

Well, Baker pretty much checked off every box with this one. This actually seems genuine, which is a rarity for statements such as this. It’s definitely a job well done on the part of Mayfield and the OU Athletics Communications staff.
Mayfield has received a lot of criticism since the arrest from fans and media alike, and he’s been the subject of plenty of takes on social media.
