On Sunday, the Oklahoma Sooners clinched the conference series over the Kansas St. Wildcats by a score of 4-3. Jumping out to an early 3-0 in the first inning, Pete Hughes leaned upon the pitching staff to secure the victory. The Sooners now stand 32-22 overall and 13-8 in conference play.
Craig Aikin stepped into the box to set the tone for the afternoon. Singling, Aikin moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt and later crossed home for the first run of the day on a Kolbey Carpenter triple off the right field wall. Following up the series of hits, Anthony Hermelyn got involved with an RBI-double to the left.
