Trae Young’s debut in an Oklahoma Sooners uniform went about as well as anyone could have hoped for. The freshman phenom went for 15 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds to help OU cruise to a 108-89 victory over the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks.
Young wasn’t the only freshman putting on a show Sunday as forwars Brady Manek added 11 points and 6 rebounds of his own. Six Sooners, Young, Manek, Christian James, Matt Freeman, Jamuni McNeace and Jordan Shepard, finished with double-digit scoring totals. The balanced attack was more than enough to overcome a hot shooting night for UNO, who made 12 of its 22 three-pointers.
