As the upsets continue on the opening day of the Big 12 Baseball Championship so does Oklahoma's slide that is dangerously coming close to costing the Sooners a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
OU fell to Kansas State on Wednesday evening in a game in which they were never really in on. The Wildcats struck for five runs through the first three innings and then coasted to a 7-3 win without ever really being challenged. Taylor Alspaugh and Anthony Hermelyn went yard in the bottom the sixth to put the Sooners on the board and then Austin O'Brien came home on an Alspaugh single the next inning but two runs by Kansas State in the top half of the seventh made it too little too late for Oklahoma.
