Last season, the Oklahoma Sooners battled through the losers' bracket to reach the Big 12 Championship Game. Now, a year later, Pete Hughes and company attempt to duplicate the feat. Oklahoma advanced into Saturday of the tournament but ousting the Kansas State Wildcats with some late game heroics to secure a 3-1 victory. The win sets up Bedlam in Tulsa once again.
Kolbey Carpenter singled to start the ninth inning later moving over to second on a bunt. A wild pitch from Lucas Benanti allowed easy passage from second to third for Carpenter. Gaining a bit of control, Benanti struck out Sheldon Nuese bringing Robert Tasin to the plate.
