Top-seeded Oklahoma softball took care of business with a 3-0 win against Texas in the Sooners’ first game of the Big 12 Championship.
Sophomore Sydney Romero was the offensive difference in the win, notching a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
From the mound, junior Paige Parker cruised in a complete game, giving up just three hits.
In the top of the sixth, freshman Nicole Mendes kept Texas from mounting a comeback as she caught a long ball from Devon Tunning at the top of the right field wall before it could escape for a home run.
