With apologies to Oklahoma State, Texas is the Sooners’ biggest rival, and that is where Oklahoma is this weekend, taking on arguably the best team it will face in the Big 12 this season (apologies again to Oklahoma State).
The Sooners rolled into Austin fueled by the momentum of multiple double-digit streaks and a No. 1 ranking. All of that remained firmly in place after Oklahoma claimed a 3-1 victory on Thursday night in game one of the three-game Easter weekend series.
If the Lady Longhorns, ranked No. 10 in the current USA Softball Collegiate Top 25, are going to play the spoiler role against their visiting archrival, they have just two more opportunities to get the job done.
