You won’t hear any member of the No. 1-ranked Oklahoma softball team talking about it, but the are within one win of tying the NCAA record for consecutive games won, which currently stands at 47.
That number should be very familiar to passionate fans of Oklahoma athletics because it is the number of consecutive wins posted from 1953 to late in the 1957 season by Bud Wilkinson and the Oklahoma football team, an NCAA record that many believe will never be broken.
Oklahoma will have the opportunity to equal and even pass Arizona at the top of the NCAA record list for consecutive wins when it faces a formidable Clemson team this weekend in the Super Regional round of the 2023 NCAA Softball Championship.
