For the second consecutive week and the fifth time this season, an Oklahoma position player and pitcher have been named Players of the Week in the Big 12 in the same week.
Sooner junior pitcher Giselle Juarez and senior second baseman Caleigh Clifton are the recipients of this season’s final weekly awards. Juarez, who transferred from Arizona State, has been named Pitcher of the Week the last four weeks and six times overall this season. Clifton is a three-time honoree in 2019 as Big 12 Player of the Week.
Both Sooner players are having outstanding seasons, which underlines why they are multiple honorees of the Big 12’s weekly award, and were key contributors in Oklahoma’s series sweep of Oklahoma State last weekend, clinching an eighth consecutive Big 12 championship for the Sooners.
