Oklahoma softball: Notable numbers from a noteworthy season

The nation’s top-ranked softball team stands 41-2 through 43 games and has not lost since late February, a span of 31 consecutive games. That equals the longest winning streak in Oklahoma softball history.

The Sooners best record and winning percentage under Gasso was in 2013, when OU went 57-4 (.934) and captured its second Women College World Series championship. The Sooners are unlikely to exceed the program record for the most wins in a season (66 in 2000, when OU went 66-8 and won its first national championship), but they are on pace to establish the best winning percentage in the team’s history, based on at least 40 games.
