The NCAA Selection Committee for postseason softball traditionally does not release its rankings and tournament seedings until after the season is completed.
This year, however, the Softball Selection Committee has chosen to do something a little different and release preliminary rankings prior to season’s end, similar to the way the College Football Playoff rankings are released in the week’s leading up to the final standings and the way “Bracketology” sets the scene prior in college basketball ahead of the final seedings on Selection Sunday.
