Her collegiate season is over, but she is still in line for one of her sports’ most prestigous honors. Clifton is one of four finalists for the Honda Award, presented annually to the top women athletes in 12 NCA-sanctioned sports, including softball. The winner of the sport award automatically becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, which will be presented on June 24 in Los Angeles.
Clifton is joined as a Honda Sport Award finalist in the softball category by Rachel Garcia of softball national champion UCLA, Amber Fiser of Minnesota and Abbey Cheek of Kentucky.
