Oklahoma signee Bobby Witt Jr. picked No. 2 overall in MLB Draft

Last season, Oklahoma outfielder/quarterback Kyler Murray was a surprise No. 9 overall pick in the Major League Baseball Draft.

Monday, there was little drama when Sooners signee Bobby Witt Jr. was taken to No. 2 overall by the Kansas City Royals.

Witt was a higher draft pick than his father. Bobby Witt Sr. was the No. 3 overall pick by the Texas Rangers in the 1985 draft.

The elder Witt was a pitching star. The son is a shortstop.
