Cowboys compete in world track championships
Former Oklahoma State Cowboy and 2016 NCAA champion Nick Miller advanced to the IAAF World Championships final in the hammer throw on Tuesday morning in Doha, Qatar.
Representing Great Britain, Miller threw the hammer 76.36 meters on his second attempt to lock himself into the top-12 out of the 31-man field. Miller will throw for a medal in the final Wednesday.
Also, current Cowboy and 2019 NCAA runner-up Ryan Smeeton ran the second-fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time of his career in a ninth-place finish in his heat. The Canada native finished as the runner up at the Canadian World Trials in July to secure his spot on the national team.
