Oklahoma receiver Nick Basquine suffers achilles tear, out indefinitely

Oklahoma wide receiver Nick Basquine will miss the 2017 season with a torn left achilles. The extent of the injury was first reported by the Norman Transcript.

Basquine, a former walk-on, played well for the Sooners last season, amassing 265 yards and two touchdowns on 20 catches.

The sophomore earned a scholarship last season after catching a career-high four passes against Iowa State.

Basquine figured to be an even bigger part of the offense this season with the departure of Dede Westbrook to the NFL.

Oklahoma still has plenty of depth at the receiver position, although it’s mostly unproven.
