For the first time since his arrival, Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon stood in front of cameras and talked about the July 2014 incident that left a female OU student with multiple broken bones in her face.
"I'm just here to basically apologize to Miss (Amelia) Molitor," Mixon said to begin his remarks. "I apologize to Coach (Bob) Stoops and I apologize to President (David) Boren, the AD, my teammates, most of all my family.
"I let a lot of people down."
Mixon repeatedly apologized directly to Molitor during the 25-minute-plus press conference.
"It's never never, never OK—never OK—to retaliate and hit a woman the way I did," Mixon said.
