Despite an early hiccup, Oklahoma enters championship November in good shape for the College Football Playoff.
The Sooners checked in at No. 7 when the committee announced the first round of rankings on Tuesday night, squarely in the middle of a pack of one-loss teams.
Ahead of OU at this juncture: Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan and Georgia. Alabama and LSU will meet this Saturday and Georgia faces No. 9 Kentucky, so there's plenty of potential for movement in the next week.
The committee seems to respect OU's potent offense while still recognizing the giant question marks on defense.
