Oklahoma ranked No. 3 in preseason AP poll; Oklahoma State 21st

A year ago, Oklahoma entered the season at No. 19 in The Associated Press preseason top 25 poll and exceeded expectations, earning a berth in the College Football Playoff.

This season, the Sooners aren't sneaking up on anyone.

Oklahoma is No. 3 in this season's preseason poll, released Sunday morning.

Oklahoma State is No. 21 in the poll.

The Sooners received four first-place votes and 1,352 total points, behind only No. 1 Alabama (1,469) and No. 2 Clemson (1,443). The Crimson Tide received 33 first-place votes while Clemson got 16.

The rest of the top 10 after OU includes Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Stanford, Tennessee and Notre Dame.
