FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — For the second year in a row, Oklahoma's Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback is under the weather just days before the Sooners take the field at the College Football Playoff.
Quarterback Kyler Murray missed Wednesday's media availability due to an illness, per an OU spokesman.
A year ago, Baker Mayfield missed Rose Bowl availability for a similar reason. He later made a dramatic entrance to OU's media day, but wasn't 100 percent healthy for OU's 54-48 overtime loss to Georgia.
Murray's illness doesn't appear to be as concerning. Running back Trey Sermon said Murray was "fine" and co-offensive coordinator Cale Gundy was even more optimistic.
