Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray added another to his collection of awards Wednesday night when he was named the winner of the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award at a banquet in Tyler, Texas.
The award recognizes the top college football player "who also exhibits integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reason goals." The winner also must have been born in Texas, graduated from a Texas high school or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college.
Murray, who is from Allen, Texas, is Oklahoma's second consecutive winner of the award.
