Before transferring to Oklahoma, former Texas Tech quarterback Baker Mayfield had a chance to play with one of the nation’s top tight ends in Jace Amaro. This off-season, OU’s new offensive coaching staff has been utilizing big receiver Mark Andrews in some of the same ways that the Red Raiders used Amaro, and Mayfield is excited to see the 6-foot-6 redshirt freshman work.
“He’s a guy that I compare to Jace Amaro,” Mayfield said of Andrews. “Big guy, tall but he can run and catch. He can be used in line but you can split him out and he’s a versatile guy that’s going to be a key part (of the offense).
