IRVING -- Oklahoma President David Boren talked Thursday about the Big 12, and there was nary a "psychologically disadvantaged" or expression of discontent to be found in 34 minutes.
At times one of the Big 12's biggest critics and the outgoing chairman of its board of directors, Boren struck a different tone at the conference's spring meetings. He said he was much more confident about the Big 12 than he was two or three years ago, or even a year ago.
Among the presidents and chancellors, Boren said "there's a tremendous optimism expressed by virtually everyone who spoke or shared thoughts in the room about the strength of this conference, about where we're headed.
