The Sooners dusted Northwestern State 105-68, but that wasn't the main story of the evening — Young was. The freshman point guard tied an NCAA record for assists in a game with 22.
He also poured in 26 points on an efficient 9-of-16 shooting and now leads the country in both points and assists per contest.
Fellow freshman Brady Manek was the primary beneficiary to Young's huge night, scoring 22 points on 9-of-11 from the floor. Manek made four of his six three point attempts.
Oklahoma will now welcome in the Big 10's Northwestern Wildcats on Friday, who played in the NCAA tournament last season.
