It was slow-going in the first half in the Cotton Bowl Saturday, but the Red River Showdown turned into the shootout many thought it would become in the second.
Oklahoma finished with 672 yards of total offense -- 282 on the ground and 390 through the air. WR Dede Westbrook caught three touchdowns, including a 71-yarder, and racked up 232 yards on 10 receptions. RB Samaje Perine went over 200 yards, as well, and two scores.
The Sooners’ 273 yards in the third quarter alone were the fifth-most any OU offense has accrued in any quarter.
It was just the seventh time an FBS team had a 200-yard receiver and a 200-yard rusher and the fifth time a 300-yard passer was added to the mix.
