Oklahoma native Josh Jacobs explains how he ended up at Alabama after unusual recruitment

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Junior running back and Tulsa, Okla., native Josh Jacobs chose Alabama over Oklahoma, Missouri and others back in 2016.

His recruitment was unusual in that blue bloods became interested very late in the process. Jacobs didn't receive national interest until less than a month before signing day.

Jacobs ultimately signed with Alabama despite a strong pursuit by the Sooners and Tigers, but he says he wouldn't have ended up in Norman even if the Tide hadn't offered him a spot.

"Honestly, if Alabama didn’t offer me I still wasn’t going to go to Oklahoma," Jacobs said Thursday.
