The United States team defeated Columbia, Brazil and 12 other countries in the international competition. The victory earns Team USA an automatic spot in next summer’s Pan American Game, which also will be held in Lima.
OU senior Genki Suzuki finished first on pommel horse and also took fourth place in the all-around competition. He finished in the top 15 in three other events. This was Suzuki’s first international competition.
Former Sooner Kanji Oyama finished among the top 15 in four different events. He captured seventh on both pommel horse and the parallel bars.
