The Sooners defeated Iowa State 4-1-1 in the morning session on Friday before splitting their six-man afternoon match against Kansas State. OU ended the day at the par 71, 7,007-yard Club at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas, with seven individual wins and four points to lead their pool after Day 1 of the three-day tournament.
Oklahoma is in Pool B, which includes Texas, Baylor, Iowa State and Kansas State. Oklahoma State and Kansas, both with six points, are tied for the lead in Pool A, which also includes TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia.
Junior Quade Cummins picked up a pair of wins on Friday to lead OU on Day 1.
