Oklahoma football: Zack Sanchez declares for 2016 NFL Draft

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Oklahoma cornerback Zack Sanchez will skip his final season of collegiate eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL Draft, he announced on his Twitter account Friday morning.

Sanchez, who started 37 games over the last three seasons, intercepted 15 career passes, including one final pick in Thursday night’s 37-17 Orange Bowl loss to Clemson.

The emotional team leader declined to speak to reporters in the Sooners’ locker room after the Orange Bowl.

A Fort Worth, Texas, native, Sanchez came to OU in the 2012 recruiting class that included Trevor Knight, Durron Neal, Sterling Shepard, Eric Striker and Charles Tapper.
