Oklahoma football: Will Johnson wants to be a role model for others back home in Baltimore

Will Johnson jogged onto the field for his first significant action as part of the Oklahoma defense and lined up across from Kansas State's Kody Cook for a third-and-5 play early in last week's game.

Johnson watched as K-State's Dominique Heath came in motion toward his side of the field and ran a swing route, then fought through Cook's block and tackled Heath just after he caught the ball, resulting in a four-yard loss.

“Got everything going,” Johnson said of the tackle-for-loss. “Got my nerves out. I wasn't as nervous from there on out because I had gotten rolling early.
