FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — During Trevor Knight’s first bowl experience, he played Johnny Manziel on the scout team as Oklahoma prepared for Texas A&M in the 2013 Cotton Bowl.
Knight went into Oklahoma’s last two bowl games as the starting quarterback, but has returned to his old role this time around. Knight is portraying Clemson star quarterback Deshaun Watson during the Sooners’ bowl preparations to help the OU defense get ready for Watson’s mobility.
“We do different things because Trevor is mobile and he can run and he’s a great athlete, so from time to time we’ll stick him back there just to give us a different look,” said Sooner linebacker Dominique Alexander.
