Sooner fans will not soon forget the game in 2011 that snapped a 39-game home winning streak at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Oklahoma was ranked No. 3 in the nation and heavily favored against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, not at all dissimilar to the situation this season when the Sooners hosted Iowa State, except that the home win streak was only at six games when Iowa State came to town.
Texas Tech never trailed in the game in 2011, holding off an Oklahoma offensive flurry at the end to post a 41-38 upset victory. That was the last time the Sooners lost a game to the Red Raiders, who once had Lincoln Riley and two other OU coaches on their coaching staff.
