There were plenty of highlights from Oklahoma’s 52-14 win over West Virginia last Saturday, but the one that will live on beyond all the rest features a scary incident in the second quarter involving the Schooner.
Following a short touchdown run by Jalen Hurts that made the score 28-7 in favor of OU, the Sooner Schooner made its traditional appearance on the field following an Oklahoma touchdown. As the scaled-down Conestoga wagon made the turn around the 15-yard line, however, an uncharacteristic shift in the weight distribution caused the wagon to tumble over on its side, throwing two student riders, a male and a female, to the ground and shattering the wagon frame.
