FRESNO, Calif. — A long waiting game on National Signing Day paid off for the Oklahoma Sooners and coach Bob Stoops on Wednesday night.
Five-star linebacker Caleb Kelly out of Clovis West High in Fresno became the prized commit in the 2016 recruiting class when he grabbed an OU hat off the head of his step-brother. Kelly selected the Sooners over Notre Dame.
“I was torn between the two, and two weeks ago, I decided on everything,” Caleb Kelly said. “My heart told me I could fit in at Notre Dame and be a perfect fit, but at Oklahoma I would be a leader there and maybe change some lives and be a good idol to other people.
