The Sooners, who began the season at No. 4 in the AP Top 25, are now down to No. 6, despite dominant win in each of their three games. LSU jumped the Sooners in to the No. 4 spot after its Week 2 win at Texas, and this week Ohio State has moved past the Sooners in the AP Poll into the No. 5 spot.
The Coaches Poll, on the other hand, views the landscape differently and still has OU at No. 4, ahead of both LSU and Ohio State.
Ohio State’s 76-5 rout of Miami of Ohio on Saturday, giving the Buckeyes four wins, one more than Oklahoma, ostensibly was impressive enough in the eyes of the AP voters to move them ahead of the idle Sooners.
