But the fact that OU has played a relatively easy schedule to this point in the season finally caught up with the Sooners in this week’s Coaches Poll.
LSU and Ohio State leapfrogged Oklahoma in the Associated Press Poll several weeks ago, and this week Ohio State jumped over OU into the No. 4 spot in the AP Poll, pushing the Sooners back to No. 5.
The Sooners have the same overall record as the teams that have passed them in the two major weekly polls, but OU’s schedule and five wins to date have not been considered that impressive in the eyes of the voting panels.
