With Michigan’s devastating loss to Ohio State on Saturday, Georgia moved up one spot, to No. 4, in this week’s AP and Coaches polls, with the Sooners taking over the vacated fifth spot. That would put Oklahoma in very good position should Georgia lose to Alabama in the SEC championship game on Saturday.
Of course, the Sooners would have to get by Texas in the Big 12 Championship and hope that their overall body of work would be enough to influence the Playoff selection committee to vote them in over other contenders as the fourth and final seed.
