Oklahoma football: Senior center Ty Darlington repeats as first-team academic All-American

NORMAN — Oklahoma senior center Ty Darlington was named a first-team academic All-American on Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Darlington was one of three repeat first-teamers, joining North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz and Kent State defensive back Jordan Italiano in that regard.

The Apopka, Fla., native has started 24 games at center over the last two years for the Sooners. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in three-and-a-half years and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in sports administration.
