The addition of the early signing period has taken a lot of the drama out of what used to be one of the biggest days of the year for college football recruiting, but there’s always a chance for some pleasant surprises from Oklahoma football and head coach Lincoln Riley.
The Sooners’ 2019 class is mostly in the books at this point with only one official signee as of Wednesday morning in Katy, Texas defensive end David Ugwoegbu.
The addition of Ugwoegbu is nothing to scoff at, of course. The four-star (according to Rivals) prospect chose Oklahoma football over the likes of Alabama, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Michigan and others and adds even more gravitas to a solid haul up front in 2019 for the Sooners.
