NORMAN — Roughly 20 percent of Oklahoma's football season-ticket holders received some surprising — and unwelcome — news within the last two weeks.
The minimum required annual donation for each of their tickets will progressively increase over the next three years. That per-seat contribution to the Sooner Club doesn't include the cost of the tickets themselves.
This impacts current season ticket holders in “premium locations,” including lower bowl and upper deck chairbacks, Chesapeake Energy Stadium Club seats, Santee Lounge club seats and other lower bowl seating directly on the east and west sides of Owen Field.
“We're trying to do everything we can to keep OU on the cutting edge,” athletic director Joe Castiglione said recently.
