NORMAN — Oklahoma junior inside linebacker Dominique Alexander was held out of practice Monday with a mild sprained ankle, but isn’t expected to miss much time.
Alexander, a former Tulsa Washington star, led the team with 107 tackles last season. He’s started 21 career games — including all 13 a year ago — and was a second-team All-Big 12 selection as a sophomore.
With Alexander out, redshirt freshman Tay Evans is working some with the first-team defense, playing inside linebacker with junior Jordan Evans.
The Sooners also return senior Frank Shannon from his one-year university suspension.
