NORMAN — Oklahoma redshirt freshman running back Joe Mixon did not participate in the program’s annual “Meet the Sooners Day” on Saturday morning.
Running backs Samaje Perine, Alex Ross, Daniel Brooks and Rodney Anderson — a true freshman — all sat to sign autographs for hundreds of Sooner fans who showed up Saturday. The autograph line for running backs was by far the longest, but Mixon wasn’t there.
Mixon, a former five-star prospect who was suspended last season for punching a female OU student early one morning near campus, is expected to play a big role in new offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley’s system this season.
