NORMAN — Oklahoma received its second 2016 verbal commitment of the day Friday when four-star wide receiver Velus Jones announced he would sign with the Sooners.
Jones (6-foot, 180 pounds) had been committed to USC since last April, but took an official visit to Norman in November.
The Saraland, Ala., native also held scholarship offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee and UCLA.
Jones’ commitment follows a pledge earlier Friday from junior college linebacker Kapri Doucet.
Jones is the third wide receiver commitment in the Sooners’ 2016 class, joining Houston native Adrian Hardy and Tyler Junior College’s Ryan Parker, although Parker’s grade issues may keep him from enrolling at OU.
