After seven seasons in the National Football League, Murray announced last week he is retiring. Murray was released by the Tennessee Titans in early March with two years remaining on his contract, according to ESPN.
The former Sooner star made the announcement while appearing on the ESPN program “NFL Live.”
Murray was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in Dallas. In 2014, he led the NFL in rushing with 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns, and was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year. In 2015, the former OU running back signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent.
