Kelly suffered a knee injury during spring football and missed all summer and most of the season for Oklahoma football.
The senior linebacker is a three-year starter who has played a couple of positions for the Sooner defense in the past. A former five-star recruit, the Sooners could certainly use his talents down the stretch, though he won’t exactly be thrust into action according to Riley.
“Being fully cleared and then being ready to play are two different things,” Riley told the Daily Oklahoman. “He’s been doing a lot of things with us here the last few weeks and is getting better quickly.
