NORMAN — Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said he will ask the Big 12 Conference to review a Baylor hit on running back Joe Mixon that many believe should have been flagged for targeting.
On the final play of the third quarter, Mixon took a handoff and ran to his right. Baylor defensive end Jamal Palmer wrapped Mixon up and appeared to be bringing him down when safety Taion Sells came in and delivered a big blow near the sideline that knocked Mixon’s helmet off his head.
Sells appeared to have made helmet-to-helmet contact with Mixon on the play.
