Oklahoma football: Bill Bedenbaugh assesses offensive line entering 2017

NORMAN — Oklahoma returns starting offensive tackles and sophomores Orlando Brown and Dru Samia next season, but the guys in between them will be a little different.

Jonathan Alvarez — OU’s starting left guard for most of last season — will move to his more natural position and start at center. That leaves two starting guard positions open, and what happens with those spots remains to be seen.

Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh said Samia is versatile enough that he could conceivably play any position on the line.

“We have some good centers we feel good about, but I’m probably just going to work (Samia) at guard and tackle,” Bedenbaugh said.
