The Sooners have changed the way they recruit over the past few seasons, going from a spread-out approach to official visits, which allow coaches more one-on-one time with each individual recruit to creating a handful of large recruiting extravaganzas in which large swaths of potential Sooners descend on Norman in the same week.
The new approach blends current commits with new targets and allows the former to help the coaching staff sway the latter into becoming Sooners.
Last year the Sooners chose a home showdown against Texas Tech, a game in which two current Sooner starters – defensive end Ronnie Perkins and safety Brendan Radley-Hiles – were both in attendance.
